at the hotel in hualien, we got upgraded to a suite because our original room's air conditioner was more like a heater. it was a nice room, but it was too big for the 3 of us and it got quite scary when the lights were off. anyway, this is liyan with this barley tea drink she bought the night before. the drink cans there are huge. we thought barley tea sounded interesting, but after drinking it, i realised it's really an invention gone wrong.
view of hualien's seaside from our hotel.
we went to taroko gorge after breakfast. it's a popular tourist spot, and it's a pretty place. it was too crowded though, and we didn't stay long. we also didn't have a chance to explore the little trails because the rainy weather made some areas of the gorge dangerous with falling rocks and possible landslides. that was a pity, because some trails could lead to magnificent sights.
i love how the wisps of clouds dance lightly around the mountain tops. very picturesque.
i also love how i took this picture in such a way that you see all the other tourists' floating heads. what. they wouldn't stop milling around and blocking my view, and i'm too short to lift my camera higher.
other gorgeous parts of the gorge. if the weather was cool and crisp, it would have been absolutely perfect. but it was not.
i think kimmy looks really sweet and nice here.
with my darling little sis. i like the light in this picture.
